October 31 - The media blitz continues, with R&J on Entertainment Tonight, CNN Showbiz Today, and Univision today. This November 4th issues of Newsweek and Time have articles on R&J as well.

October 30 - Contrary to previous reports, Leonardo did not make an appearance on Good Morning America today, Access Hollywood is slated to have a segment on R&J this evening and the current issue of People has a photo of Claire and Winona at the Fire and Ice benefit. Added Rolling Stone's glowing article on R&J. Also, don't forget that MTV will have it's first airing of the R&J special today at 5:30PM EST. The people at E! Online let me know that the scheduled Q&A will now have both Claire and Leonardo's participation. Tommorow's ET will have a segment on some of Hollywood's hottest scenes, including R&J.

October 29 - Well, after the LA Times determined that we're all teenage girls, there's not much to say now, is there? Must be my inner child or something! ;-) The soundtrack for Romeo and Juliet will be released later today. Added the Toronto Sun article from this weekend. For Canadians, E Now (Baton/BBS) will have an interview with Claire this Saturday at 7:30PM. A'yin reports that the November 4th issue of Time has an article on the Cinematic Shakespeare revival, with references to R&J.

October 28 - The latest issue of Detour magazine has Leo on its cover, an R&J article as well as a full page poster. The LA Times has a very meaty article on you know who. (thanks Erin) Claire has officially turned down the role for Joan of Arc in Company of Angels due to scheduling conflicts Hot off the presses: tonight's ET interview with Claire on the premiere of Romeo and Juliet as another QuickTime movie. (I received a message indicating that premiere for Romeo and Juliet would take place tommorow at the GCC AVCO Cinema Center in Westwood -- could there be two?) The MTV schedule for the R&J specials are as follows: Wednesday at 5:30PM, repeated Thursday at 9:00PM, and Friday at 2:00PM and 8:30PM. The Weekend Warmup show in which Claire will be appearing airs at 4:00PM and 10:00PM Friday (all times are EST).

October 27 - A few people asked where the get-together message went, so it's back up again. Less than a week to go folks!!! The New York Times has an article on Romeo and Juliet as well as a synopsis of R&J over the years. Rolling Stone has a glowing review of R&J in it's current issue. Just a reminder that the soundtrack for R&J will be released this Tuesday - October 29th. Just added today's YTV News "First Person" profile of Claire as another QuickTime movie. Finally, the Showcase section of today's Toronto Sun has R&J on it's cover, following with an article.

October 26 - Added a bunch of new photos from Claire's interviews on Letterman and Leno. This week's edition of Movietelevision has a snippet on Romeo and Juliet (Citytv - Sunday at 8:30PM EST). Access Hollywood had a small snippet on To Gillian On Her 37th Birthday on Friday. Also, it looks like Claire will be on the Weekend Warmup show on MTV on November 1st in addition to the Romeo and Juliet preview on Thursday. Finally, added a short article from BPI Entertainment News on Claire, a.k.a. Gummi Bear (cute!).

October 25 - More cool stuff! Erin caught the E! snippets on Claire / Romeo and Juliet and sent in two E! QuickTime movies. Hollywood Online has a big Romeo and Juliet download section with lots of trailers, photos, sounds, and notes. Also added the QuickTime movie for last night's Letterman interview and Andi was kind enough to transcribe the Letterman interview for all of us. Entertainment Weekly reviews To Gillian On Her 37th Birthday. Finally, don't forget that John Leguizamo (Tybalt) will be on Letterman tonight and Leonardo DiCaprio is scheduled to appear on Good Morning America on October 30th.

October 24 - Claire will be on Letterman TONIGHT! As promised, we have a little something special from the Romeo and Juliet press conference on Monday. Steve Hammer of NUVO Newsweekly (and other entertainment writers) interview Claire and we have an exclusive excerpt for all. From Claire, to Steve, to you. Many thanks to Steve for helping set this up! Claire will also be a guest on the Rosie O'donnell show on Halloween [ Maybe she'll dress up like Angela? ;-) ] and was interviewed on Canada's YTV Channel. Tune into YTV NEWS this week (Sunday at 12:30PM & Tuesday at 9:30PM) to catch the interview with Claire talking about Romeo & Juliet and the following week for a full profile on Miss Danes (info courtesy of Janice).

October 23 - As Erin puts it...it will be CD-TV all of next week! MTV is showing showing episodes of My So-Called Life at 8:00/7:00 PM Monday through Thursday, including a doubleheader on Wednesday, and then a half-hour Romeo and Juliet preview special at 9:00/8:00 PM on Thursday, which will be repeated several times (info courtesy of Harold Wexler). In what I'm assuming is a scheduling conflict, the E! Online Q&A will now feature Leonardo DiCaprio instead of Claire. In some rather obscure news, the band Soul Coughing has a mention of Claire in the liner notes of their newest album Irresistible Bliss with the line "Gus would like to thank Claire Danes and asks that she call him (he's listed in the Pensacola Phone Book)" and also in their November Details interview where the band rates various things. Amongst them "Claire Danes' body parts: 7/10". Next, Entertainment Tonight had another snippet with Claire in it tonight. Again with pal Winona Ryder at the Fire & Ice benefit for breast cancer research. And next again, the soundtrack listing for Romeo and Juliet is as follows:

#1 Crush -- Garbage
Local God -- Everclear
Angel -- Gavin Friday
Pretty Piece Of Flesh -- One Inch Punch
Kissing You -- Des'ree
Whatever (I Had A Dream) -- Butthole Surfers
Lovefool -- The Cardigans
Young Hearts Run Free -- Kym Mazelle
Everybody's Free (To Feel Good) -- Quindon Tarver
To You I Bestow -- Mundy
Talk Show Host -- Radiohead
Little Sister -- Stina Nordenstam
You & Me Song -- The Wannadies

October 22 - Schedule change! Claire will be on Letterman on October 24th instead of the 30th! Entertainment Tonight had a small snippet on Romeo and Juliet focusing on what else? Kissing! Also, coming soon...E! Online will be having a Claire Q&A session! Finally, although it's probably not well propagated yet (check with your local newsmaster), we have a new newsgroup: alt.fan.claire-danes.

October 21 - Good news for Canadians! My So-Called Life has been renewed on Showcase and will be airing weekly on Mondays at 6:00PM starting today. Send your thanks to Showcase here! Also added the Quicktime trailer (RealVideo - 335KB) for To Gillian On Her 37th Birthday.

October 20 - Some exciting news! The press conference for Romeo and Juliet takes place tommorow in Florida and it looks like we will be getting some very cool stuff! :-) Also, the November issue of Movieline has a 2 page announcement for Romeo and Juliet. Today's dish from the New York Daily News has a small snipet on Claire's SAT writing session last Saturday. Looks like she has her sights set on Yale.

October 19 - The hair extentions are gone! ET showed Claire attending the premiere of To Gillian On Her 37th Birthday with her pal Winona Ryder, sporting a slicked back version of her own hair again.

October 18 - To Gillian On Her 37th Birthday opens in select theatres today, with wide release on October 25th. There are not enough superlatives to describe the amazing portfolio photos from the latest issue of US.

October 17 - Added an AP article on Claire. Myra also was kind enough to send us the article from the November issue of US. This is a must have! The portfolio is amazing! :-)

October 16 - I was lucky enough to get a sneak peek of To Gillian... last evening...quite a tear jerker, with lots of "chin trembling" scenes from Claire. :-) Also added the recent article from W on the precocious Ms. Danes.

October 15 - The QuickTime trailers are finally available for Romeo and Juliet! Theatrical Teaser (90 sec, 6.9MB), Theatrical Trailer (133 sec, 15MB), MTV Commercial (30 sec, 2.9MB). Screensavers are also available for: Windows 95, Macintosh 68k and Macintosh PowerPC.

October 14 - Good news for MSCL fans! My So-Called Life is being run once again on MTV on alternate Saturdays.

October 12 - Claire is featured in the November US Magazine and the November issue of Premiere has a small R&J mention.

October 11 - Cydney informs us that a photo of Claire appears in the current issue of PAPER magazine and Myra came across a French magazine that indicated that I Love You, I Love You Not opened in France on August 28th. Letterman makes a reference to Claire as "the best" in his interview of Peter Gallagher...hope this bodes well for a Claire appearance on Letterman before R&J opens. Finally, John Leguizamo (Tybalt in Romeo and Juliet) is scheduled to appear on Letterman on October 25th.

October 10 - Hot off the presses...Claire looking very sophisticated in her interview last evening on the Tonight Show as a Quicktime movie (RealVideo - 2.5MB). Also, added the photos from Erin's adventures on the set of Polish Wedding. Thanks Erin! ;-)

October 9 - Claire appears on Jay Leno tonight! The soundtrack for To Gillian... has been spotted in the stores already, with R&J to follow on October 29th.

October 7 - Added the photos from the November Seventeen article as well as the shot from the October issue of W.

October 6 - A new cut of the trailer for Romeo and Juliet can be seen with That Thing You Do!. For those who wish to brush up on their R&J, here's a place to do some homework before the movie.

October 5 - Courtesy of Amelia, we have the Claire article from the November issue of Seventeen. Fox has also updated the official site for Romeo and Juliet to include cast and production information.

October 4 - In related movie news, Jeanne Moreau (I love you, I love you not) is scheduled to appear on Letterman on October 7th. Peter Gallagher (To Gillian on Her 37th Birthday) is scheduled to appear on Letterman October 10th, and Conan O'Brien on October 11th. There is also a small Claire / To Gillian... mention in the current US Magazine.

October 3 - For those who were just dying to know a bit of trivia on the history of the Claire Danes song by Chocolate Honey Monkey, I received a message from Allen of the band who tells the following tale. Also, for those who were concerned that they might not get to see R&J...it will be rated PG13 after all.

October 2 - Start collecting your Romeo and Juliet postcards! Apparently 10 postcards will be available in all and will be included in the November issues of various magazines. The November Seventeen contains 2 postcards in the series. Also added a link to the October '96 Premiere article on R&J and a story from AP.
