November 30 - The December issue of Life magazine has a 2 page spread on "The Making of a Kiss" - the definitive first kiss in Romeo and Juliet. November 29 - Added last night's Access Hollywood interview with Claire to the multimedia section. November 28 - Access Hollywood has another interview with Claire this evening. November 27 - The Romeo and Juliet site has announced the winners for it's "Do you bite your thumb at me?" contest and added a link to Entertainment Today's article on Claire. November 26 - Just came back from the Soul Coughing show. A very cool bunch of guys and the audience was just jumpin. Gus...you have it bad! ;-) November 25 - Final weekend boxoffice numbers have R&J at #7 with a $3.2 million draw and a 24 day total of $35.8 million. The latest Rolling Stone has a small photo of Claire and Leonardo from the R&J premiere. November 24 - Finally managed to acquire a copy of Claire's original Letterman interview from July 1995. It's been Quicktimed (if that's a word) and can be found in the multimedia section. Also, NetGuide recently reviewed the site. November 23 - I'm not sure if the E! Online poll is still accepting entries, but the questionnaire is still up. E! will announce the winners on December 15th. November 22 - Photos of Claire appear in the November 29th issue of Entertainment Weekly. November 21 - Nothing definite...but it's rumoured that the second soundtrack for R&J is scheduled for a spring release. November 20 - Answers for the Postcard Contest (a.k.a. The Claire Apititude Test) can be found here! 25 sets of postcards were mailed yesterday to entries drawn at random from correctly answered submissions. Claire photos can be found in the current In Style and All About You magazines and gets a small mention in the December Movieline. November 19 - Steve reports that Claire has finished week 3 of shooting for The Rainmaker and has now flipped over to Stray Dogs (a.k.a. U-Turn) for a bit before returning to Memphis to finish location work with The Rainmaker. She'll have another week or so of work on it in San Francisco in January, then she'll be done. [ Actually, she'll be visiting MacWorld along with me! ;-) ... just kidding! ] Additionally, Claire is mentioned in today's NY Times and it looks like Company of Angels is gone for good, with or without Claire. November 18 - Final weekend boxoffice numbers have R&J at #5 with a $5.6 million draw and a 17 day total of $31.6 million. November 17 - Filming for The Rainmaker takes place in Memphis, TN. Claire will be joined by her MSCL alumnus Mary Kay Place (Camille Cherski) in this film. Also, Erin and Elvina were kind enough to send along an article from this week's NYU student newspaper on you know who. November 16 - The R&J postcard contest is now closed. Best of luck to all who've entered! Now I just have several hundred entries to go through! Added QuickTime movies of the latest R&J commercial - the one with the quotes from the critics. November 15 - Capitol Records has decided to issue a second soundtrack for Romeo and Juliet from the success of the current soundtrack in release. Capitol says the second soundtrack will include music absent from the first album, including the score itself, and dialog from the movie. The first soundtrack is at No. 24 on the Billboard album chart. November 14 - MTV will be running another MSCL mini-marathon next week, airing daily at 5:30PM from November 18-22, and 8:00PM on November 23. iGuide has a Q&A session with Leonardo on Romeo and Juliet. November 13 - Added a link to the LA Times on Jeanne Moreau which references I Love You, I Love You Not which she stars in along with Claire. November 12 - Claire is referenced in Variety's article on Company of Angels. Final box office numbers for the weekend have R&J's weekend gross at $9.03 million and a 10 day total of $23.54 million. November 11 - Added a slew of additional publicity photos from Romeo and Juliet. Studio estimates have R&J at #2 in this weekend's boxoffice numbers, with an estimated $8.8 million and a 10 day total of $23.4 million. November 10 - Added a link to People Online's 30 under 30 list. November 9 - suck gets into the action and intertwines Romeo and Juliet with recent politics. The November 18th issue of People has its "30 under 30" list of rising stars. Naturally Claire is in it along with co-stars, Leonardo DiCaprio and Jared Leto. November 8 - The Toronto Sun does a follow up article from their interview with Claire. November 7 - Added two QuickTime snippets from this weekend: Movietelevision's interview with Baz, Claire, and Leo as well as the Siskel and Ebert review of Romeo and Juliet. E! Online gets bizarre and channels Shakespeare to get his views on Baz's interpretation of Romeo and Juliet! November 6 - The Romeo and Juliet site has added several new QuickTime movies: All Time (1.7MB), Cast (800KB), Crush (3.4MB), Lovestory (1.6MB), Timeless (1.7MB) Romance (1.7MB), Shakespeare (1.7MB), Sworn Enemies (1.7MB) November 5 - The LA Times has a summary of the weekend's results, which apparently caught everyone off guard. The New York Times has an article on Hollywood's surprise at this weekend's success, especially at the large teen-age audiences. Entertainment Weekly gives their review of Romeo and Juliet. Finally, Fox Interactive has a preview of the upcoming Romeo and Juliet CD-ROM. November 4 - The #1 film this weekend? You guessed it. Romeo and Juliet leads the box office numbers this weekend, raking in $11.6 million. E! Online has its review of R&J, have your say and vote for the film here. People scopes out Claire and Leonardo at the premiere of R&J. November 3 - Saw Romeo and Juliet again last evening. I think everyone needs to see it twice (at least) as after the first viewing you're just in visual overload. Without spoiling the film for anyone, what I'll say is Baz Luhrmann is a genius to pull off what he has (IMHO). Jessica sent in her review of the movie for the Ottawa Citizen, from the perspective of someone who is in the target audience. November 2 - Don't watch this review if you haven't seen the movie! But, just so you can disagree with Ebert, Siskel and Ebert will review Romeo and Juliet on Sunday.
November 1 - Just came back from seeing Romeo and Juliet. Ummm, it's difficult to say this and have it sound like I mean it, but It's still absorbing, but I'll be back again. Run out and see this film NOW! Romeo and Juliet is finally released! Reviews are out in USA Today, Philadelphia Inquirer, Detroit Free Press, The Chicago Sun Times, The Chicago Tribune, The New York Times, The LA Times, Newsday. Added the articles from the November 4th issue of Time and a QuickTime of Access Hollywood's segment on R&J from Wednesday. Claire is slated to be on MTV's weekend warmup today and MTV will be running a Claire-a-thon on Sunday with the following schedule: 1:00PM - Romeo & Juliet Movie Special 1:30PM - My So-Called Life [#12] ...
